Placement: Magickal Media will place advertising where it is most appropriate. Sizes and locations are explained on the Rates page . Advertising can be placed on a specific page on request on a first-come first-served basis. (Example: A merchant may request that an ad for clothing be placed on a Fashion page.) There are no guarantees for specific placement.
Magickal Media will not place any commercial material on pages designed for children and on certain other topic pages. Products and services directed toward children will appear on the Family and Parenting pages or another appropriate page. No advertising will appear on some Self-Help pages, including Bereavement.
Pages designed to inform viewers about charitable causes and non-profit organizations will only accept paid ads or contributors’ ads for charitable purposes. You will be asked to furnish proof of your non-profit status as an ecclesiastical corporation (church, grove, coven, temple or organization with state-approved religious organization status) or as a 501-3-c religious or educational corporation (federal-approved tax-free status).
Ads for products will not appear on pages which contain reviews of the same or similar product due to conflict of interest. The reviewer’s opinion may not reflect that of Magickal Media LLC owners, staff or viewers.
Ad Preparation: Please prepare your ad according to our specifications, listed below. If you need help preparing your ad, please contact a professional graphic designer. We recommend Cheryl Feyen Designs, cfeyen@yahoo.com an independent graphic designer who can assist you in preparing your ad for an additional fee, payable to their service. If your advertisement does not conform to Magickal Media requirements for size, format, clarity and other specifications, we may request that the advertiser have it edited by a graphic designer at your own expense or we will run the ad at your own risk. No refund will be granted for advertisers’ errors.

We may be able to run ads formatted with .html or .htm, however, we may not be able to open ads using this format. Send ads in these formats at your own risk!
Specifications:
Images / Text ads: Images must be clearly viewable using standard equipment. For best viewing, all text should be at least 9 point type in a clearly readable font in high contrast to the background. Photographs and drawings must be clearly visible. Please ensure that you have the permission of any and all human subjects of photographs or images and that you hold copyright to same. Text only ads must be in .rtf or .doc format. Images must be in .jpg or .gif or .png format. We may not be able to review ads that are submitted in .htm or .html format. Ads submitted in .txt format may lose certain aspects of formatting.
Audio ads: Coming soon! Audio files must be clearly audible with a minimum of background noise or static. Language and sounds must be appropriate for all listeners. Please ensure that you have the permission of any and all human subjects including voice, instrumental performances, etc. and that you hold copyright to same. Audio ads must be in .mp3 format.

Content: It is recommended that your advertising be appropriate for Magickal Media readers and viewers. Yet please remember, Pagans need insurance and other services, too!
Errors: Magickal Media is not responsible for erroneous information submitted to us in any media, including misspellings, grammatical or punctuation errors, or mispronunciations. No refunds will be granted for ads containing errors made by the advertiser. We recommend Cheryl Feyen Designs, an independent graphic designer who can assist you in creating and editing your print-media ad.
Responsibility: By submitting an advertisement to Magickal Media, advertisers agree to respond to every inquiry generated by the ad in an honorable manner. This includes filling orders and delivery of product or service within a timeline determined by merchant and customer and offering quality merchandise or services. In addition, advertisers assume total liability for the contents of the ad and the quality of the product or service.
Advertising must be for products and services that are legal within the state of Michigan, USA. Magickal Media reserves the right to accept or reject any advertisement based on content of the advertisement and the owners’ personal evaluation of the product. No advertising allowed for alcohol, tobacco, firearms, casino gambling, or sexual services. Promotions with “adult content” must be clearly labeled. Products and services that require licensure must contain appropriate proof upon request. Herbal products and divination services must include an appropriate disclaimer. Please see “licensure” information below.
Licensure Requirements, Disclaimers:
Magickal Services: Tarot readings, astrological charts, and all other forms of divination must be marked “for entertainment purposes only” and / or “for religious and spiritual enhancement only” as per the law in the state of Michigan. Those who offer spiritual counseling must provide a reference and advertising must be clearly labeled “for religious and spiritual enhancement only”. Licensed counselors must provide proof of licensure in their state of origin. Note: A clergy certificate may not be adequate to cover requirements for licensure in all states. Testimonials for your work may be requested.
Body Enhancement Services: Practices such as tattooing, cosmetology, massage therapy and other “body work” services must be appropriately licensed in their state of origin and be able to furnish proof of same. Photographs or testimonials for your work may be requested.
Herbal and Botanical Services: Products containing herbs or botanicals must be legal within the state of Michigan and in the state of origin for the advertiser. Advertising of herbs must be clearly marked as to the intent of use. Foods for human consumption sold in the state of Michigan must be prepared in a licensed kitchen (this law is in the process of change). Advertisers must mark non-FDA-approved substances as such, and substances which may be harmful if ingested must be clearly indicated. For example: “Dream pillow contains nightshade, which is harmful if ingested. Intended use is for spiritual enhancement.” Appropriate licensure for distribution of substances may be required in your state of origin and you may be required to furnish proof of same.
Educational Services: Anyone advertising direct, online or at-distance training should provide descriptions of curriculum and instructional methods such as policy manuals, representative lessons, cost schedules, etc., as well as a reference from a student who has completed the course of instruction.
Other Ad Types
Pop-up Ads; Auto-play: NO “pop up” advertising will be allowed on the Magickal Media website, because it annoys the owners. Audio and video files will not have “auto play” enabled; listeners and viewers may enable these functions at their discretion.
Personal Ads: Magickal Media will accept print-media ads of a personal nature. Ads seeking companionship are okay, but we will not accept sexually explicit ads. Advertising of a political nature must clearly indicate sponsorship of the organization or candidate.
Announcements of rites of passage will be accepted including birth, marriage / handfasting / life partnership, home blessing, coming of age / saging / croning, new job, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Please ensure that you have permission of all parties before mentioning legal names, addresses, birth dates, phone numbers, e-mail addresses or other information of a personal nature. These notices are limited to “Button” sized ads, 120 x 60 pixels (classifieds).
Other information: If Magickal Media personnel ask for other information, it is the advertiser’s responsibility to answer promptly to help keep possible publication of your ad from delay. We must receive a reply to our inquiry within four days. Adjustments to advertising is contingent upon advertiser’s response to our inquiries.
Samples: We are very excited about advertising your product! Please consider sending us a sample of your product so that we can do a review of it on Magickal-Media.com. We will not only write a review of your product sample, but we may use it in a Witches Alive video. This is an exciting way to get your product seen not only in your advertisement, but in a written review and perhaps even a video! By sending us your sample, you are giving us permission to use your sample and vendor information. Samples may be used in other promotional material within our website, including use as print media image. We may review your product on our website at any time after receiving the sample. Magickal Media will clearly identify the owner, manufacturer, vendor, author or craftsman of the product used within our website when appropriate. If you want your samples returned, you must specify this and include a self-addressed envelope with ample postage for return. Otherwise samples will be given away as promotional material. Your contact information will be included on merchandise used for gifts or prizes.
Please adequately mark merchandise samples with name of vendor or merchant, name of creator of the work if applicable, contact information, date the sample was sent, copyright if applicable, price, and any other pertinent information. Please clearly label any merchandise or photographs “adults only” inside the packaging for any product that is inappropriate for all Magickal Media viewers. Please grant permission for fair use of your merchandise for review or advertising purposes on the form .
Please do not send us merchandise valued at over $20 per individual product. Magickal Media LLC is not responsible for loss or damage of any merchandise.
Publishers: Advertisers who create, publish or distribute a newsletter, book, catalog, magazine or other publication should furnish Magickal Media with sample copies of your printed material before we will run your advertisement. Please ensure that copyright information is clearly available.
Sound / Recording: Advertisers who create, publish or distribute music, sound files, lectures, or any other audio media should furnish Magickal Media with sample copies of your CDs, sound files, ring tones, or other audio media before we will run your advertisement. Please ensure that copyright information is clearly available.
Artists: Advertisers who create, publish or distribute photographs, art, crafts or visual media should furnish Magickal Media with sample copies of your works before we will run your advertisement. Note: Large works of art may be photographed and sent with small samples of materials used to create the work, such as bronze sculpture (small piece of the metal), fiber art (snippet of the yarn) and so forth. Please ensure that copyright information is clearly available. Please do not send any merchandise valued at over $20.
Merchants, vendors, craftspersons and stores: Please send general literature about yourself as well as any catalogues and business cards, along with a sample of merchandise representative of your overall inventory. Please do not send any merchandise valued at over $20. Larger merchandise such as drums, camping gear, etc. may be photographed. Testimonials from satisfied customers are requested. Merchandise must be legal within the state of Michigan. Food items and certain other products may require licensure to distribute or sell. It is the merchant’s responsibility to obtain proper licensure and to furnish proof of same on request. Non-FDA-approved substances for use as food must be marked as such (example: herbs, home-canned goods, etc.).
Magickal Media’s prerogative: We reserve the right to inform our readers / viewers when an advertiser fails to carry out the responsibilities outlined above. We reserve the right to void all existing ad arrangements with any advertiser who proves to be irresponsible or, due to other circumstances, can no longer provide what is advertised. Should this situation occur, Magickal Media will not refund advertising fees. Advertising policies and rates are subject to change without advance notice.
Contract Discount for Print-Media Ads: Advertisers may purchase more than one advertisement to be displayed on the Magickal Media website or purchase advertising for the period of three consecutive months, six consecutive months, or one year. You will receive a discount in payment for multiple ads and / or consecutive ads. Please see our pricing page for details Please include payment in full for the complete time period prior to publication.
Method of Payment: At this time we are using Paypal for secure advertising payments. Please go to: www.paypal.com , log in or create your account and “send money” to: advertising@magickal-media.com. Please be sure to indicate the invoice number of your advertisement in the memo area. Thank you for advertising with Magickal Media! Deadlines: Please submit your advertisement at least three (2) weeks before the desired publication date. If our staff as a question regarding your advertisement, they will contact you at least one (1) week before the publication date. We must resolve any editing concerns at least three (3) days before publication. All material is published on Friday night to Saturday morning, weekly.
Submitting your ad: You will receive an invoice number from Magickal Media when you reserve space for your advertisement. Use this number when submitting your ad and when making payment. Please see Advertising Rates below for information regarding paying for your advertisement through Paypal.com. Please allow adequate time for mailing.
